Hey Barrett--

I'm in New Orleans now and I just tried Bikram for a month. I tried it for 2-3 times a week but it never created the same sense of joy, peace, and freedom that I've found with other styles. I did grow to appreciate the stretchiness and it also helped to strengthen my hip flexors which was a benefit. I even came to not mind the sweat so much. Not sure why it didn't call to my spirit--but maybe you will enjoy it more. I do think it is worth experiencing.

Sababas - I'll teach you some restorative poses soon, especially with a bolster. It's heavenly!

M - There's such a lack of good terminology, I guess. I call my classes vinyasa, and they are, but they are infused with some Forrest, Iyengar, Kripalu, and Astanga influences. Lately, I say, "It's just yoga." That's my best description!

I'm often asked what type of yoga I practice, and almost always say that I don't really know; one teacher I had said she taught Vinyassa flow, but I don't think the poses really flowed together usually.

What type of yoga do you teach at the Broad classes?

These aren't anything new, but I'd like to do yoga more regularly. And maybe try using some props more, like lying over a bolster (http://www.fivepointsyoga.com/blog/?p=528).
