I like this post. I personally am addicted to deep relaxation so at the end of my classes I really try to help the students BLISS OUT. I have lots of great relaxation tapes that I listen to and bring the imagery of what works to class in different ways, different days.

In the Bikram series, there are savasana scattered throughout, though you don't really 'REST' unless you're really good at slipping into it. It takes practice to relax in only 20 seconds!

So pulsing, tingling, streaming, thrumming, humming, pulsing... GREAT NEW words to try! Thanks!

We went the baby carrying route until Katie was about 1 year old and then we bought a stroller. Now we use both. I love babywearing! She is not light, over 30 lbs, but with the right carrier it is still comfortable to wear her on my front or back. At 21 months she still naps in her carrier while I run errands, it's great! we also love strolling now, too, they are both good for toddlers.

This post is very helpful for me, now that I am figuring out how to lose weight faster and easier. I guess in any situation, someone has to give. But I find your article milder because it allows people to enjoy eating with proper discipline. It makes dieting more feasible for most.

Yes it is a joy to have baby along with me anywhere. But as for the sling, I am more comfortable using it with my baby when she was still small and lesser active. Now, i don't think I am comfortable having her hanging on me using the sling because she is longer, heavier, and more playful at one year old. She is more secured in her stroller, at the same time, my back is not heavily burdened by all the weight I am carrying.

Pre and postnatal yoga and pilates have been great for all the wonderful woman and their children that I have known. These 5 tips are great advice. I especially like tip # 3. Start earlier and do it longer. Habits are so important.

Namaste,

Strolling can be very organizing for children, but I can also see how it might not be so convenient for city living. I would never recommend exclusivity, because both are beneficial at different times.

THANK YOU!! Thank you so much for this post. I just came across your website and reading this really helped. I live at a meditation and yoga center in Thailand. Yoga Thailand I've been here for over a year and of course, it serves only vegetarian meals. However, I have to say that it's been really tough on me. My hair started to fall out and my energy levels have plummeted. Things are especially hard during my menstruation cycle. I recently have started to go into town once or twice for chicken or beef and it's made all the difference.

I've come to see that it's not really about what you eat (or do) but how. I think we can have just as much mindfulness and respect for our food and where it comes from as vegetarians. Likewise, just because you don't eat meat doesn't necessarily mean that you're mindful or respectful of food. If I've learned anything through yoga it's been that I can't be any help to anyone else if I'm not helping myself.

Once again, thank you!
