Vinyasa Classes

About Vinyasa Yoga »

I teach all levels of yoga classes. I use the general term of Vinyasa Yoga (which means “to set in a certain way” and is also called Flow Yoga), because class sequences are drawn from many different traditions, and are always changing. In class, we start with centering, and then focus on Sun Salutations and variations, standing postures, and lead into a peak pose or experience in the practice. I include modifications if you have an injury or limitation, as well as variations, so that you can deepen your experience with yoga every time you practice. I use Vinyasa Krama, or working in stages, so postures become more approachable as you practice.

Vinyasa Level 1 (Active Beginning) is suitable for new students and anyone who wants to work on fundamentals. If you have injuries and limitations, you may need to work in a modified way for several months.

Vinyasa Level 2 (Intermediate/Advanced) is suitable for experienced students who are injury-free, or who know how to work with their injuries. We explore more advanced postures, including inversions, arm balances, and backbends.

Prenatal Classes

About Prenatal Yoga »

Prenatal yoga classes are suitable for any pregnant woman in any stage of pregnancy. These classes offer a time to tune out the rest of the world and tune in to the amazing creation of both a baby and a mother. Yoga addresses our wholistic being, encouraging us to grow stronger and become more flexible in all realms – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. A regular prenatal yoga practice helps a woman get to know herself deep down, confront her worries, and develop the courage to enter into parenthood. Our classes are a lot of fun too – participants often develop close bonds with other students.

Postnatal/New Moms Classes

About Postnatal Yoga »

Postnatal yoga classes welcome moms with infants to have a bit of quiet reflective time while building back their strength.  Classes specifically focus on creating connection and comfort in the back, chest, abdominals and pelvic floor.  Parents are welcome with or without their babies, anytime from early postpartum until babies are crawling.  Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and anything to make your baby comfortable (car seat, blanket, toys, etc.)
